Racing Courses

Racing is a great excuse to escape onto the water. The RYA has developed the Racing Course syllabus to help guide you through the transition of competent sailor to competitive racer.

Start Racing

After this course you will be a competitive club racer, capable of utilising boat speed and outwitting the opposition. Before taking part in this course you will need to be at a Level 2/Stage 3 standard.

Intermediate Racing

Building on experienced gained through club racing this course looks at improving some key racing skills, namely: the start, boat handling, boat speed, strategy and tactics. After the course you should see an increase in performance at a club level.

Advanced Racing

This is a purely practical course designed to work on improving key techniques that will help you work your way up to open meetings and regional events with greater confidence.
