Flotilla Holiday

A very sociable and safe way to go sailing. A flotilla sailing holiday is great fun for both beginner and experienced skippers.
What?
A flotilla is a small group (generally no more than 12) yachts who sail in company around an area. Each flotilla will get a lead boat, which normally includes a skipper, engineer and steward. Most of the time you will have a set route, however if you have enough experience you can normally peel away from the flotilla and go off exploring by yourself for a night or two.
Why?
It is a very safe way to sail, with plenty of help just a short distance away. It’s also a very sociable way to sail as you will often find yourself eating out and drinking with a lot of different people.
Every day the flotilla lead boat will help you leave before they shoot off to the next destination at full pelt so they can try and reserve you a space. Once you’ve had enough sailing that day you simply head over to the pre-arranged destination and the lead boat will help find you a spot to moor. In a popular destination their help takes a lot of the stress away!
Where
Most flotillas are in the Mediterranean, particularly Greece, Croatia and Turkey. However as they become more popular you can find a flotilla in places such as the UK and even as far as the BVIs and Grenada
