Advanced Courses
Once you’ve passed through, and gained some extra confidence, from either Stage 3 or 4 of the Youth beginners scheme or Level 2 or 3 of the Adult beginners scheme, it’s time to hone the basic skills into specialist courses.
Each course looks into individual areas in greater details. Courses can be run in either dinghies, multihulls or keelboats.
Seamanship Skills
Master boat handling skills under different and often difficult situations and learn how to solve problems afloat.
Day Sailing
This course looks a preparation and planning for a long day afloat. Course content includes preparing a pilotage, decision making skills and how to execute a successful cruise.
Sailing with a Spinnaker
Spinnakers can see a boats speed almost double or even triple when going downwind, but they’re often intimidating. This course will teach you how to rig, launch/recover and effectively control either an asymetric of symmetric spinnaker.
Performance Sailing
This is a course to improve your efficiency on all points of sail in a large range of conditions. The course is normally taught in 2 man boats with a spinnaker.
